About the network

lightning.storms.im is part of the ReallyByte network, run by REALLYBYTE, based in the Isle of Man. General information, checked against the Met Office, NOAA / National Weather Service and NASA pages listed on the sources page. It is not a warning service: for warnings, check the Met Office or your national weather service. Figures that change, such as yearly counts, carry the date we checked them (27 Oct 2026). Images are public domain NOAA, NASA and US government images, credited; the cloud and bolt drawings are our own. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Met Office, NOAA or NASA.
